Data Steward | Own Mortgage Data Products in a Data Governance Role | Major Dutch Bank

A major Dutch bank is looking for a Data Steward to join its mortgages data product team in Amersfoort. You will be the business owner and subject-matter expert for mortgage data products covering operational processing, intermediaries and advisors, and the mortgage advice process. You will make sure definitions, lineage and data quality are in order, and that the right people get the insights they need.

About the role

The team builds standardised, reusable mortgage data products instead of one-off solutions. Its insights cover turnaround times, workload in the mid-office, intermediary performance and advice quality. You will sit between the business and the data, translating stakeholder questions into clear data requirements. This is a 12-month assignment at 36 hours per week, based in Amersfoort, which is easy to reach by train from across the country. The role is offered via payroll through Levy Professionals; ZZP is not possible due to Wet DBA enforcement.

You will:

• Act as the knowledge owner for your data product, keeping definitions and the business data model up to date in the Data Marketplace.
• Document data lineage, from where data originates to where and how it is consumed.
• Define data quality requirements with the business, prioritise data issues and drive them to resolution.
• Help data users shape clear use cases, and review and approve or reject data access requests.

About you

• Hands-on experience in data stewardship, data governance or data management
• Strong understanding of data quality, data definitions and data lineage
• Able to translate business questions into data requirements and work with stakeholders at all levels
• HBO/WO degree and fluent English; Dutch is a strong plus
• Bonus: mortgage or operational processing knowledge, or experience in banking or another regulated environment
