IT Database Engineer

We are seeking an experienced IT Database Engineer to join our client’s growing infrastructure team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment where you’ll be responsible for supporting, administering and securing critical production databases. You’ll play a key role in ensuring high availability, performance and resilience across the database estate while contributing to ongoing infrastructure and database projects.

What we are looking for:

• 5 years + experience in production database administration. At least 2 of the following: SQL-Server, PostgreSQL and Oracle are essential.
• Experience in database administration within a production environment for below DB products is a plus but not essential: ClickHouse, snowflake,
• Basic understanding of DB monitoring, analysis, disaster recovery, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux
• Experience in one or more database programming languages (SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL etc.) for design, maintain, administrate, secure, backup and recovery across production, back test, UAT and development environments
• Experience of managing security and permissions
• Knowledge of industry best practices
• Good attention to detail, testing and documentation
• Organized with a proactive approach to work. Team player essential.
• Experience in scripting in Powershell/Shell script, python, ansible would be a plus
• Experience in cloud DB admin would be a plus
