Senior Data Risk Manager | Enterprise Risk Management | Asset Management

As Senior Data Management Risk Manager, you’ll guide the implementation and embedding of data management capability within a leading Asset Management organisation, from a second-line risk perspective. You’ll act as strategic advisor on data management policy and control objectives, advise the Management Board and Risk Committee directly, and help shape a major strategic push to modernise data management as part of the organisation’s 2030 strategy.

This is a 32-hour role based in Amsterdam, with an option to extend. You’ll be fully office-based during onboarding, then on-site two days a week (Tuesday and Wednesday). About the role

You’ll join the second-line risk function, in the Enterprise Risk Management & Compliance Monitoring team, which monitors data management risks and requirements across Asset Management. Working closely with Group Risk & Compliance, the team has recently formalised a set of control objectives that now need to be translated into control measures and embedded across the organisation. You will:

• Act as strategic advisor on the implementation of data management policy and control objectives
• Draft and align new data management control objectives, based on the evolving data management IT landscape
• Own a CFRO user-awareness programme on data management, in collaboration with Compliance
• Provide solicited and unsolicited advice to the Management Board / Risk Committee on data management risks
• Own the reporting of the data management risk profile within Enterprise Risk Management’s risk reporting
• Help raise the knowledge level of the permanent business-as-usual team through coaching and knowledge sharing

Who are you?

• A proven track record of 5-10 years in the data management domain at a financial institution, preferably in banking
• Knowledge of and experience in a similar role, ideally within a first- or second-line function
• Energetic, decisive and persistent in a fast-changing environment
• A clear focus on bringing data management risks under control and making them demonstrable/auditable
• Able to work in an international context alongside domain specialists in Data & IT
